Kastking Rod Review | Spinning & Casting Rod

These Kastking series rods are light and comfortable at hand; casting feels nice, very lively at length. Carrying is easy since it’s a 2 pieces rod.

Can handle almost all lures at a moderate distance.  Not good at catfishing or heavy fishing, however, it can manage a little weight if you can use it with a bit of sense.

With Good action, it’s excellent for all-around fishing like – smaller saltwater fish and bass or similar.

A bit lighter to become MH or Fast, however, also not a medium one either.

Grips feel fine and seem like golf club grips, but they actually aren’t. These rods have new fancy looking eyelets, good enough for me.

Finding a nifty rod for fishing always makes me happy. But I hate when I spend money and time and get an unsporting rod. That is really irritating. Not just for the money and time, I have passed, but it feels like a stupid.

Now let’s hop into the main features of this rod.

Key Features

Kastking rod- resolute series has some exciting features worth mentioning, such as – IM7 rod material, New grips, New Microwave air guides, etc.

Rod Construction: Kastking Resolutes are IM7 high-density graphite blank and have two layers of carbon materials.

So, what’s the difference between IM7 and IM6 or other IMs?

That’s the difference between the modulus rating. Higher the rating, better the sensitivity and the wall is thinner and lighter than the lower grades. Therefore, this Resolute series is more sensitive than the Crixus rods. Crixus rods have IM6 carbon blanks.

Kastking Resolute series comes with all-around from ultra-light to substantial power. They claim to be as good as 1-piece rods at the same price level.

Now what I found: rod feels good at hand and sensitivity was delicate. This rod is undoubtedly agile at length, and casting was fun.

I have tried different sorts of lures from weightless to heavy, but it handled all baits nicely. It’s not a good one for continuous heavy fishing but can handle moderate distance with fairly heavy lures.

Rod looks beautiful and has a decent design. The rod is 2 pieces; obviously, you can’t compare with a good 1-piece rod. But two parts make it easy to pack and carry. It’s a flexible one with a proper backbone to carry out the tasks.

It’s a medium power rod with the right amount of sensitivity and has high action—best for saltwater smaller fish and bass.

Overall, it’s a good rod for all-round fishing.

Lots of Variety from Length to Action: This series has both spinning and casting rods. That makes it easier to choose the right one. Also has 27 different models with a variety of weights, lengths, actions, and powers, etc.

I really liked this much varieties., you can choose any weight, power, or action. Sometimes I had trouble with the availability. I wanted a rod, but they don’t have the required weight or length of mine.

As you can see, the case here is not the same. You can choose any weights or powers you like.

Fancy Looking Eyelets: Kastking introduced the new American tackle microwave air guides in this series. These new patented fishing guides improve accuracy and distance casting.

Duralight top guides and Stainless steel can carry the duty monofilament, braided, and fluorocarbon lines.

They are good enough not to say bad about. So, the guides do their job. Also, the number of guides was satisfactory for me.

Golf Style Super Polymer Grips: Kastking also brings a new super polymer grip. It just looks like golf club grips, but they aren’t.

Holding onto these was pretty comfy and can suck some water and sweat. Also, the lower grip covers the total bottom of the rod.

This model prevents casual slips and gives better control over the rod.  These grips are not seen very much at this price level, though the quality is another factor to consider.

Drop Shot Style Hook Keeper: Kastking Resolute series rods have Drop Shot Style Hook Keeper that helps in quick lure attachments and make easy to do so.

American Tackle Reel Seat: These rods have a premium American Tackle reel seat; it’s a Bravo series reel seat from the American tackle Company. It helps to hold the reel in the right place and didn’t move much to notice or causing problems in my fishing with this rod.

Kastking Rods Drawbacks: Kastking Resolute Series

While using my 6’6″ Kasking Resolute spinning rod, I noticed some points that should bring in the drawbacks of this series’ rod.

Durability: The first thing I should tell you about the durability of the rod. Rod is good and the construction is proper too. But insincere handlings could break your rod into pieces.  Yes, small fishing doesn’t require that much attention; it can handle that easily. Though the Kastking claims these rods to be the same as one-piece rod, that’s not a proper saying.

Golf Style Grips: These aren’t the golf club grips. Feels comfortable, to me: seemed little cheap. Grips aren’t viable. After some use, they could come off for weak quality adhesive and making.  Also, the bottom handle is small.

Air Guides: Bigger knots can catch up on the guides, so have to use smaller knots to avoid the interceptions during fishing.

Final Say

Well, after reading the Kastking rod review of Resolute series, you now understand whether it’s or not worth your time and money.

As far as I say- this a good action rod for all-round fishing with any type of lures. Continuous heavy fishing isn’t recommended. Rod is sensitive and responsive in casting.

Looks are decent and have good looking air guides. But the quality has been a little compromised.

The comparative price isn’t low or high, but somewhat in between.

That would be all for today. See you with another product information on another day.

So, what you think – are these rods worth buying or not?
